This clear view of Mt. Cook is for Fred, see no clouds!

Lawrence and I parted company with Fred this morning. Fred went off on business to the North Island of New Zealand and Lawrence and I drove back to Christchurch. We took the same route back to Christchurch we had taken at the beginning of our trip. But, this time we were able to see the parts of the route in day light which had been obscured to us earlier by darkness. What a beautiful country New Zealand is.

We had to drive past Mt. Cook which is the largest mountain in New Zealand. Mt. Cook is a long way away from the road back to Christchurch but we stopped to take a photo or two of it as it was such a beautiful day.

When we got to Lake Tekapo we could not resist taking a joy flight to see Mt. Cook up close. Mt. Cook is embedded in the New Zealand Southern Alps which are indescribably beautiful.

Aoraki.

Lawrence and I parted company this day as he boarded his airplane back to Australia and I boarded mine back to San Francisco. What a trip it has been.

From July 17 to August 28, visiting three different countries, making new friends in Chile, spending time with Steve, Cynthia, and their children, sharing with my brother Lawrence, visiting with all my family, and seeing old friends again.

I know Mina would have really enjoyed this trip and I wish she could have.
